Jersey Day - March 2013
Mon, May 13th, 2013
The start of each new season is celebrated by LCJRU with its traditional "Jersey Day". The Jersey Day name came from the '80's and '90's when each player received a rugby jersey to use for the season and the allocation of these was done, very unceremoniously, down at Blackman Park by piling all the jerseys on a couple of tables and each player just dived in and found one that looked like it would fit. Whether it had a number on the back or not wasn't a problem and the shorts and socks were passed out from a car boot as the players filed past. We have come such a long way since those days but in a nod to our past, the "Jersey Day"name lives on!Read more

Gordon Junior Rugby Rep Teams - Nominations Open
Thu, Mar 14th, 2013
Nominations are now open for the GJRU 2013 rep teams and trial dates have been published on the GJRU website (www.gordonjuniors.rugbynet.com.au).The rep trials are open to any player from the U10's and up who is registered with a Gordon Village Club for the current season and we encourage all players from Lane Cove to consider whether they would want to try out for a representative team. If so, please take note of the rep calendar dates, including dates that the nomination forms need to be submitted by. Most age groups (except the U10's development squad) need nomination forms in by Sunday 31 March. Last year over 20 players from Lane Cove were selected for Gordon rep teams.
If you are unsure whether your son should be attending a rep try out, have a talk to your team coach or your age group coordinator.
