Summer Sevens Is Coming Back to Blackman Park

While we still have several winter rounds ahead of us, plenty of Lane Cove families are already looking towards warmer weather—and the awesome Friday evenings waiting for us at Blackman Park.

Lane Cove Summer Sevens returns from 16 October to 27 November 2026, bringing together players from Lane Cove and surrounding suburbs for seven fast, friendly and fun Friday nights.

We encourage everyone to find and friend and join us for the social and/or sport. Have the kids running on the pitch and later playing in the bush. While the adults do similar on the pitch and enjoy a drink or two.

Summer Sevens is one of those special times of year when we broaden our rugby community. The competition welcomes everyone from Under 6/7s through to Opens and Over 35s, including complete beginners, returning players, groups of friends and experienced teams. Bring your own team, join an existing one or register individually and we’ll help find the right team for you.

The games are short, the pace is lively and the atmosphere is wonderfully social. Each match consists of two 14-minute halves, giving everyone enough running to feel accomplished—without taking over the whole evening.

Away from the action, we’re planning plenty to make Blackman Park the place to be on Friday nights. Expect barbecues, food trucks, music and possibly a few themed evenings along the way. Players, families and friends can settle in, catch up and enjoy some fantastic community rugby as the sun goes down.

There will be competition for those who want it and social for those who don’t, with plenty of fun for everyone.

Registrations open at 9am on 10 August. Player registration is $140, with team and individual entries available.
