Frequently asked questions
How long does the competition run?
The competition runs for seven weeks, with one game each Friday. Finals are played in the final week.
How many players are in a team?
Teams can register up to 10 players, with seven players on the field at a time. Individual entrants may be added before the competition begins.
Can I register as an individual?
Yes. Register without a team and we will place you into a suitable team where possible.
When are games played?
Games are played on Fridays between 4pm and 8pm. The exact schedule is released after registrations close, with each age group playing within a one-hour window.
Where are the games played?
All games are played at Blackman Park in Lane Cove.
How long is each game?
Games run for 28 minutes: two 14-minute halves with a short two-minute half-time break.
Which age groups can participate?
The competition is open from Under 6/7s through to Opens, with opportunities for players of all genders.
What does registration cost?
Registration is $140 per player. The required Summer Sevens singlet is $20 separately through the 2Reds website.
What happens if it rains?
Games proceed in wet weather unless Council closes the fields or conditions are considered unsafe. Cancellations are shared by email and LCJRU's official social channels.
What uniform do players need?
Every player must wear the 2025/2026 Summer Sevens singlet. Players without the required singlet cannot take the field.
